Following an emergency appendectomy in Mexico City in Tuesday, Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres continues to recover at a local hospital. His Bon Jovi band mates are by his side, but even guitarist Richie Sambora, who hasn't played with the group since April for reasons that are still unexplained, took time to wish Tico well.
"All my love, prayers and heart goes out to my brother Tico," Richie tweeted. "He is an amazing man, a true warrior, great artist and underestimated musician."
Meanwhile, Jon Bon Jovi posted a lengthy note on the band's website saying, "We’ll remain here with Tico in Mexico City and will see him through his release...Tico sends his thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers...We are sorry for any inconvenience this sudden change of plans may have caused."
The tour will now be continued through December, and the group's planned date in Mexico City has now been bumped to September 29. Their next scheduled date is in Brazil on September 20.
"On behalf of the band, I’d like to thank all of you who support us throughout these challenges," Jon writes.
