Lady Gaga and Jason Mraz are among the stars who'll be saluting the legendary Grammy-winning artist Carole King at a gala event in Los Angeles January 24.
Carole has been named the 2014 MusiCares Person of the Year by the Recording Academy, the folks who bring you the Grammys. She's being honored for her musical accomplishments, as well as for her extensive charity work. During the event, which takes place before the Grammy Awards, her songs will be performed by Gaga and Jason, as well as by Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, the Dixie Chicks, singer/actress Bette Midler and fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famer James Taylor.
Among the classic hits that Carole King has written for herself and for other artists are "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" "You've Got a Friend," "So Far Away," "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," "I Feel the Earth Move," "It's Too Late" and "Up on the Roof."
The gala event will raise money for MusiCares, the Recording Academy foundation that helps musicians in times of need.
