Bono is the latest musician to be added to the lineup of next week's Global Citizen Festival -- though he will appear as a presenter and not as a performer, as far as we know. The U2 singer will present President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia with a Global Citizen Movement Award in recognition of her dedication to women's equality issues.
As previously noted, the second annual Global Citizen Festival is slated for September 28 in New York's Central Park and is intended to raise awareness of global poverty -- an issue that Bono has long been an active on. It will include a concert headlined by Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, John Mayer and Kings of Leon.
