Over the years, Madonna's probably signed her name thousands upon thousands of times, on everything from albums to photos to stage clothes. But she's so famous that her autograph remains among the top 10 most valuable among celebrities who are still with us.
Paul Fraser Collectibles, a British firm that specializes in high-end items like stamps, vintage wine and celebrity memorabilia, has released its annual index of the the "Top 10 Most Valuable Living Autographs," detailing which still-living celebrities command the most for their signatures on photos. Madonna comes in at #10 on the list: according to Paul Fraser, her signature is worth just under $1,640, and has increased by nearly 8 percent each year since 2000.
Other musicians on the list include Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, who is #9; his signature is worth just over $1,975. Bob Dylan is #4 on the list, with an autograph worth more than $3,200, because he's so reclusive and his signature is rare. Another ex-Beatle, Paul McCartney, is #3: his autograph is worth just under $3,300, simply because he has such a huge fanbase.
Other stars who are on the list include Muhammad Ali, Queen Elizabeth II, Tiger Woods, J.K. Rowling, Prince William and, coming in at #1, Cuban leader Fidel Castro, whose signature is worth more than $5,700.
