Christina Aguilera Recorded Gaga Duet in Carly Simon's Living Room

Image Courtesy Christina Aguilera via TwitterChristina Aguilera surprised fans on New Year's Day by releasing "Do What U Want," a studio version of the duet she performed with Lady Gaga on The Voice finale. But what's even more surprising is where Christina recorded her vocals for the duet: in Carly Simon's living room.

The singer had posted a photo of herself on Twitter and Facebook that showed her recording while standing in what looked like a living room with a Christmas tree.  Now, The Boston Globe reports that it was indeed a living room: the one in Carly's home in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.

So why was the recording done there? According to the paper, the session was overseen by a Martha's Vineyard-based producer named Jimmy Parr, and his new studio is still under construction.
