Little Big Town won their first Grammy award last year in the Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group category for "Pontoon." They're up for that same trophy at Sunday night's show for "Your Side of the Bed," but LBT faces some pretty stiff competition, including Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton for "You Can't Make Old Friends."
"How cool is that?" says the group's Jimi Westbrook. "Probably gonna lose to 'em, so not very cool."
When they won last year, Little Big Town ran to the podium during the pre-telecast portion of the show to accept their Grammy. They pretty much freaked out during the speech, too.
Band member Kimberly Schlapman says, "We never have couth when we win. It's like, we've got to learn to win dignified. If we could have another chance that would be great."
Jimi remembers Phillip Sweet actually skipping ahead of him down the aisle as they approached the stage. Phillip explains, "I would like to call it a strut instead of a skip. You know, sounds cooler, but I probably skipped a little."
LBT's Karen Fairchild admits they had no idea that the pre-telecast ceremony was being streamed around the world at Grammy.com. She says, "That's why we were acting a little crazy."
The Grammy Awards pre-telecast live stream starts this Sunday at 4 p.m. ET at Grammy.com. The 56th Annual Grammy Awards broadcasts live at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
