Mötley Crüe Members Reveal Details of Solo Projects to Follow Farewell Tour

Tenth Street EntertainmentMötley Crüe fans learned the sad news on Tuesday that the group will be disbanding following a farewell outing, which will kick off this summer.  But what will the guys do after they're finished rocking out at the last show?

During the press conference where they announced the details of their "Final Tour," each member revealed what lies in store for him once the group calls it quits.

Frontman Vince Neil says that in addition to pursuing opportunities with restaurants, he'll be hitting the stage from time to time as a solo artist.  "I've been in the restaurant business for a long time, and so [I'm] just continuing that, and also music," he told reporters.  "I'll never stop singing on stage and [I'll] kinda carry that Mötley banner…with me with all the concerts that I perform at.  I'm not ready to kinda stop…I have to have music in me so…I'll be continuing that."

Guitarist Mick Mars adds that he has two projects in the works: a solo album and an autobiography.  "I just moved to Nashville, so I got lots and lots of musicians to work with," he notes.  "I plan on seriously pursuing my solo album now, and coming out with a book about myself, but I might write it backwards from death till I was born.  I'm not sure on that one yet."

While drummer Tommy Lee said he has some "big surprises" in the works that he can't talk about yet, guitarist Nikki Sixx revealed that he has quite a few projects to keep him busy.  "I have a side project, Sixx: A.M., that's something I'm very passionate about," he explains.  "I'm gonna keep doing that, I have a radio show that I do, [I’m] working on a Broadway play [and I'll] continue to make music."

Crüe's final trek kicks off on July 2 at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Alice Cooper will support the band on all the upcoming dates.  Tickets for most of the shows will go on sale on Friday. Visit Motley.com for the full itinerary.
