Back in August, TMZ reported that the ex-wife of Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach received an interesting item listed as "Bob Dylan Hair" as part of the couple's divorce settlement. While the story led people to believe that the singer/guitarist owned a lock of the legendary folk-rocker's hair, it turns out that the item in question isn't quite so personal.
TMZ recently asked Auerbach about the mysterious piece of memorabilia, and found out that "Bob Dylan Hair" was actually a reference to a poster created by American graphic designer Milton Glaser that was included in the packaging for the 1967 Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits compilation. The poster features a silhouette of Dylan, with his curly hair drawn with a variety of colors.
There was another interesting twist to the story: Auerbach says one of Dylan's sons read about the story when it broke, and has since texted The Black Keys star to let him know that he probably could get some of his dad's real hair for Auerbach if he ever wanted to own some.
