Gregg Allman will perform alongside ex-Allman Brothers Band keyboardist Chuck Leavell, some other respected musicians and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at a special concert saluting the music of Georgia scheduled for January 18 in Atlanta. The show, dubbed "Celebrating Georgia with Chuck Leavell and Friends," will be held at Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.
Gregg is expected to sing three songs at the show, whose lineup also features ex-Wet Willie frontman Jimmy Hall and one-time Allman sideman Randall Bramblett. The concert, which starts at 8 p.m. ET, is affiliated with the Georgia Roots Music Festival that's taking place at the venue earlier that day. The Celebrating Georgia event will include a tribute to late soul legend Otis Redding, who was born in Dawson, Georgia. Tickets for the show are available now at Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com, AtlantaSymphony.org and at the Woodruff Arts Center's box office.
Leavell, who's a member of The Rolling Stones' current touring band, also will be performing at the previously announced All My Friends concert paying tribute to Gregg Allman. That star-studded event is scheduled for this Friday, January 10, at the Fox Theater in Atlanta.
