Stevie Nicks Wants Katy Perry and John Mayer to Be "Together Forever"

ABC/Ida Mae AstuteStevie Nicks has been friendly with John Mayer for quite some time, and she also recently became buddies with his girlfriend Katy Perry -- that's why she dedicated a song to them during a Fleetwood Mac concert last month.  Now, Stevie says she's like to see the couple make things permanent between them.

"They seem to be a really great couple, and they seem to really care about each other," she tells Us Weekly magazine. "I am just hoping for the best for them.  It would be great if that relationship worked out and they were together forever. I think they're really good for each other. They're very different people, and that's the best way to go out with somebody."

As for her thoughts on the couple's musical talents, Stevie says of Katy, "I like [her] songs and her energy. I dance to them and I treadmill to them...[and] I think John Mayer is one of the finest songwriters ever.  He is right up there with James Taylor, Don Henley and those people. I really love him and respect him for those beautiful songs."

Speaking of Don Henley, the two dated back in the day, and Stevie says that while she's technically willing to dish the dirt on her relationship with him, it won't be for a long, long time, because she doesn't want anybody to be hurt by what she has to say.

"I wouldn't write a book unless I could really tell the truth, and [could] say all the people are in it are represented right," she tells Us Weekly. "Did I go out with Don Henley? Yes, but I won't change his name to Bob. If Don is in it, Don is going to be Don. If I'm gonna talk about all the people in my life, I need to be old enough -- and so do they -- that nobody's gonna care. Don's wife is not gonna care, and Lindsey Buckingham's wife is not gonna care, and all the men that I went out with in my life, their wives are not gonna care."

"I want to tell the real story of what happened with all these people, and why they didn't work out, and why I'm not married to one of them. I want to be truthful," she explains.
