Sting and "The Last Ship" Cast Members Taking Part in NYC Christmas Carol Event, Album Signing

Kevin Mazur/WireImageSting will participate in a few interesting events this weekend in New York City in conjunction with his Broadway musical, The Last Ship.

On Saturday, the ex-Police frontman and other members of the production will team up with cast members from the show Jersey Boys to help out a couple of local charities by taking part in a fundraiser dubbed "Saturday Night Scream Christmas Carols."  The Broadway performers will belt out some yuletide tunes on 52nd Street outside the August Wilson Theatre and Neil Simon Theatre, while at the same time giving fans and friends the chance to donate coats and canned food to the 26th annual New York Cares Coat Drive and City Harvest initiatives.  The performance begins at 7:15 p.m. ET.  Those unable to attend to public song fest can still donate coats to the cause until December 31.

Then, on Sunday, Sting and the principal cast members of The Last Ship will take part in a special album-signing event celebrating the release this past Tuesday of the musical's Original Broadway Cast Recording CD.  The event will be held at 6 p.m. ET on stage at the Neil Simon Theatre after the matinee performance.

To attend the signing, fans must get a wristband, a limited number of which will be handed out to people purchasing copies of the album from 11:30 a.m. to noon that day in the lobby of the theater.

Sting and the other actors will autograph only copies of The Last Ship cast recording.  Each person with a wristband can have as many as three CDs autographed.

The Last Ship Original Broadway Cast Recording includes a bonus track that Sting recorded titled "What Say You, Meg?"
