Looks like this is the year for Gavin DeGraw to perform with Rock and Roll Hall of Famers. First, he booked a gig as Billy Joel's opening act on the Piano Man's current tour, and now he'll be joining soon-to-be-inducted Rock Hall of Famer Daryl Hall on his TV concert series, Live from Daryl's House. The show is filmed in Daryl's home in upstate New York.
On the episode, which will air on Palladia February 13 and then be available online on February 15 at LFDH.com, Gavin and Daryl team up to perform Hall & Oates songs, as well as some of Gavin's tunes, like "I Don't Want to Be" and the title track from his current album Make a Move. In addition to jamming, the two also learn how to cook gumbo from a local chef.
"Let me start by saying what a fan of Daryl's I have always been," Gavin says in a statement. "He's a true songwriter, musician and singer. I really enjoyed trading riffs with him and sharing that invisible magic we call music. It really was an honor. Wow, that voice!"
As for Daryl, he says, "Gavin really stepped up. He can sing and he's not afraid to get soulful, man. His songs are great and on top of everything else, I love his lyrics. It was fun. Everybody had a good time."
Daryl and John Oates will be formally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April.
