New Elton John Video for His Classic "Harmony" Reveals Never-Before-Seen Footage

EltonJohn.comTo get fans excited about the forthcoming deluxe reissue of his classic 1973 album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Elton John is featuring on his  website a new video for the closing song on that album, "Harmony."  The video is made up of never-before-seen footage of Elton and his band on the road in the early seventies.

The silent Super 8 film was shot by two members of Elton's road crew between 1970 and 1974 and edited together for the video.  It shows Elton, his band members and other close friends backstage and on stage, with guest appearances by his parents, Billie Jean King and even Stevie Wonder, who's shown playing piano on board Elton's private jet.  One of the closing shots shows Elton performing at the Hollywood Bowl in 1973; he's on stage with a number of pianos, and doves fly out of all of them.

The video is a jumping off point for a larger documentary about Elton's band.  It was edited together by Tam Johnstone, the son of Elton's guitarist, Davey Johnstone.

As previously reported, the deluxe edition of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road will arrive March 25, Elton's birthday.  You can pre-order it now at
