Billy Joel's seemingly endless quest to sell his mansion in New York's ritzy Hamptons continues.
The Piano Man has just chopped the price on the property down to $19.95 million; it was previously listed at $23.5 million. The real estate website Curbed reports that the home may find a buyer now, thanks to the price reduction, and the fact that the floors have been refinished and the rooms have been redecorated.
Commenters on the website had previously noted that the interior decoration was "just too busy" and "not restful" enough for a beach house -- if you want to call a 5,500-square foot oceanfront mansion with four bedrooms, fourth-and-a-half baths, a butler's pantry and a state-of-the-art kitchen a "beach house."
As previously reported, Billy originally listed the home, which previously belonged to late actor Roy Scheider, five years ago for $22.5 million. He eventually dropped the price to $16.8 million, and then took it off the market before re-listing it in March for $23.5 million.
