Collection of Lou Reed's Musical Equipment Being Auctioned on eBay

PRNewsFoto/GreyThe rock world lost one of its great artists this past October, when Lou Reed died at the age of 71 after a battle with liver disease.  Now fans have a chance to own a piece of the lauded singer/songwriter's history, as a collection of musical equipment he and his band used on his various tours is being auctioned now on eBay.

Among the items currently up for bid are guitar-effects pedals, a number of keyboards and several preamps.  Additional pieces of gear, including road cases, will go on the block in the coming days.  Proceeds raised by the sale will be used to fund the Lou Reed Archive, which is being overseen by the Sister Ray Enterprises company he founded.  The archive will maintain a collection that includes most of Reed's important guitars, amplifiers and effects.

Meanwhile, select pieces of memorabilia will be offered for sale prior to being placed on eBay to people in the New York City area able to pick up the items in person.  For more details, visit Lou Reed's official Facebook page.
