Tony Iommi, who was given an Honorary Doctorate of Arts last November from Coventry University, has now been appointed Visiting Professor of Music at the U.K. college.
During a recent visit to the university, the Black Sabbath guitarist spoke with students and staff and was given a tour of the school's performing arts department. Geoff Willcocks, Coventry's director of arts and culture, says in a statement, "To watch Tony interact with the students was an absolute privilege. He was incredibly generous and open with them about all aspects of his work."
Iommi, who currently is tour with Black Sabbath through a July 4 concert in London's Hyde Park, plans to return to Coventry University in the fall to work with students on songwriting and music compositions.
