Original Pointer Sisters member Bonnie Pointer is saying "no we can't can't" to her marriage. According to TMZ, the 63-year-old singer is seeking a divorce from her husband of 35 years, Motown Records producer Jeffrey Bowen.
The tabloid reports that Bonnie is citing irreconcilable differences as why she's chosen to end the marriage. The divorce apparently has been brewing for quite some time, as legal documents show that the couple separated in 2004.
Bonnie recorded four albums with The Pointer Sisters and was featured on such early hits by the sibling act as "Yes We Can Can," "Fairytale" and "How Long (Betcha' Got a Chick on the Side)." She left the group in 1977, after which she mounted a moderately successful solo career. In November 2011, Bonnie made headlines when she was arrested for cocaine possession.
