OneRepublic Unveils New Song for "The Giver" Soundtrack

LeAnn Mueller/Interscope RecordsIf you're already tired of listening to OneRepublic's latest single "Love Runs Out," there's good news: they've got another new song for you.  It's called "Ordinary Human," and it's from the soundtrack of the upcoming movie The Giver, aka, "that movie featuring Taylor Swift."

So far, the band has only released about a minute-and-a-half of the song, which soundtracks a new trailer for the film, due August 15.  "I'm just an ordinary human," sings Ryan Tedder.  "I don't feel so ordinary today."  Taylor, who has dark hair in the film, can be seen for a split-second in the trailer. It's not clear when the full song will be released.

The Giver is based on the 1993 young adult novel by Lois Lowry.  Set in a dystopian, colorless future of conformity, the movie follows a boy named Jonas, played by Brenton Thwaites, who is selected to learn the truth about what humanity has sacrificed for a seemingly perfect existence.  Taylor plays a girl named Rosemary; Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges also star.
