Motley Crue Shocking Audience with Cruecifly, Has Another Surprise in the Works

Image Courtesy Motley Records/Eleven Seven MusicMotley Crue is two weeks into its last-ever outing as Motley Crue. It's called The Final Tour: All Bad Things Must Come to an End, and it will have the band on the road until at least 2016.

One of the most over-the-top parts of the show is called Cruecifly -- it's a ceiling-level roller coaster on which drummer Tommy Lee cruises, riding his drum kit, which flips over and does other amazing things, all with Lee aboard.

Though his drum set has flown during many past tours, Cruecifly is by far the highest, most outrageous and dangerous stunt Lee has ever been a part of. He tells ABC News Radio, "I've been wanting to do [this] my whole life, and [other tours have been] leading up to this. This is like the mothership."

He says the beginning of Cruecifly came about innocently. "We started drawing it on paper one day, and you know, those cocktail napkins turn into reality and then you sit there and go, 'OH MY GOD.'"

Other than the drum set blasting off in a rocket it's hard to imagine the stunt being any more outrageous, but Lee has another trick up his sleeve: "I wanted to add an extra seat," he admits to ABC News Radio, "because I wanted to take a fan with me, which we may still do. What's the problem? "We're still kinda messing around with the insurance company, because it's one thing to insure me over the audience, but it's another to insure another just regular folk that I pick out of the crowd," he says. "That's a whole other animal, so we're working on it."

Motley Crue's The Final Tour hits Austin, Texas tonight.
