New Jim Croce Album Features Rare Live Performances and Demos

Cleopatra RecordsA new compilation gathering together some rare recordings by the late folk-rock great Jim Croce will be released this Tuesday, July 22.  Lost Time in a Bottle features 24 tracks, and includes a previously unreleased 1964 live radio concert the singer/songwriter played at New York's Cazenovia College.

The album also offers several demo recordings, including renditions of his classic songs "Operator," "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" and "Time in a Bottle," as well as concert performances from a February 1973 show at Harper College in Illinois.  Among the tunes from that concert that appear on the record are versions of "New York's Not My Home," "You Don't Mess Around with Jim" and "Roller Derby Queen."

Tragically, Croce was killed in a September 1973 plane crash following a show in Natchitoches, Louisiana.  He was 30 years old.

Lost Time in a Bottle initially will be available on CD and as a digital download, while a two-LP vinyl version is expected to be released soon too.
