Whitney Houston Biopic Reportedly Will Feature Her Music, Not Her Voice

ABC/Ida Mae AstuteLifetime's upcoming Whitney Houston biopic will feature some of the singer's big hits, though it won't be Whitney's voice, or the voice of former America's Next Top Model runner-up Yaya DaCosta, the star of the movie, we'll be hearing.

A Lifetime rep tells E! Online the honor will go to R&B singer Deborah Cox.

The rep says "music rights and clearances are still being worked out," but Cox will be providing the "vocal tracks."

Angela Bassett, who co-starred with Houston in the 1995 film Waiting to Exhale, will be making her directorial debut with the biopic, which will reportedly focus on Houston's relationship with Bobby Brown.

Houston's family is not involved with the production.

The movie is set to premiere next year.
