Eddie Vedder Tapped to Sing During Seventh-Inning Stretch of Thursday's Chicago Cubs Game

Image Courtesy Jeffrey R. Staab/CBSIt's become a regular event: At least once per baseball season, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder sings "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch of a home game played by his beloved Chicago Cubs.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Vedder will continue the tradition in 2014 by performing the song Thursday night, when the Cubs host the San Diego Padres at Wrigley Field.

Prior to Thursday's game, Vedder will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch, which he's done before when the Cubs play at Wrigley.

Other notables slated to sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" at future Cubs games this season include Fitz and the Tantrums on July 31.
