Kesha's had no problem getting people to listen to her music since going all the way to #1 with her song "TiK ToK" in 2010, but there was a time in her career when she had to resort to desperate measures.
The Rising Star expert visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night and explained how after moving to Los Angeles when she was 17 years old, she broke into her idol Prince's house to deliver a CD with some of her songs on it.
Kesha told Fallon sneaking into the "Purple Rain" singer's home was actually pretty easy. She slipped his gardener five bucks not to say anything and sneaked under the fence. She made it to the front door, which was unlocked, and walked into the house.
"Everything was purple velvet, so I was very pleased that my fantasy had come true and there really was purple velvet," she recalls.
"I walk into the elevator," she continues, "and there's Prince music playing...I go up in the elevator and I come out...and there's Prince playing the guitar with a beanie on and I almost pooped my pants."
Rising Star airs Sundays at 9 p.m. Eastern time on ABC.
