Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson Releasing Deluxe Tour Edition of Latest Album Next Month

Image Courtesy of Carl GloverJethro Tull frontman Ian Anderson has announced plans to release a deluxe expanded version of his latest solo album, Homo Erraticus, to coincide with his upcoming fall U.S. tour.  The CD/DVD set includes specially filmed videos that accompany each album track, a live performance of the new song "Enter the Uninvited" and a recent interview with Anderson talking about the visuals, which also will be shown during the trek.

Homo Erraticus, which was released this past April, is a concept album that marks the third chapter in the saga of Gerald Bostock, the fictional character who first surfaced as the supposed lyricist for Jethro Tull's classic 1972 album Thick as a Brick.  In the scenario created by Ian for the new record, Bostock -- who was eight years old at the time of Thick as a Brick -- went on to have a 40-year political career before becoming Anderson's tour manager.  Homo Erraticus features a collection of songs that Gerald supposedly co-wrote with Ian and was inspired by an unpublished manuscript penned by a fictional amateur historian who died in 1928, and whose work takes a look at major events in British history while prophesying what would come to pass in the present day and the future.

Each show on Anderson's fall trek will feature a full performance of the new album, as well as a set of classic Jethro Tull songs.  The expansive outing kicks off September 12 in Seattle and is plotted out through a November 10 concert in Montclair, New Jersey.
