Nick Cannon has confirmed the rumors that he and Mariah Carey are having problems in their marriage.
Speaking to The Insider, Nick said, "There is trouble in paradise…we have been living in separate houses for a few months.” However, he denied that those problems are due to infidelity, and added, "My main focus is my kids." Mariah and Nick, married since 2008, have three-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
TMZ had reported earlier that Mariah has been upset with Nick because his non-stop work schedule doesn't leave him any time for the kids, while Nick, the site claimed, is frustrated that Mariah surrounds herself with "yes men."
Asked for a response to Nick's statements, Mariah's rep told ABC News, "I am not commenting on Mariah's personal life, but [she] is focusing on her children and her upcoming tour."
Early Friday morning, TMZ reported Mariah slapped Nick with a "completely one-sided" confidentiality agreement that exacts "severe financial penalties" if he says anything more about the celebrity uncoupling. Mariah, however, is apparently allowed to speak of it "on her terms."
