Maroon 5 is set to make their MTV Video Music Awards debut during the network's live broadcast from Inglewood, California's renovated venue The Forum.
This will be the band's first time ever appearing on the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The band will perform its current single, "Maps," from a special outdoor stage.
"We are so excited about our upcoming new album and to be part of the great VMA lineup this year. It is our first time doing the show and we are thrilled to be on it performing our new single," said lead singer and The Voice coach Adam Levine in a statement.
This is a complete turnaround for the singer, who took to Twitter to voice his dissatisfaction with the network in 2011, despite having won a Moonman for Best New Artist in 2004.
"The VMA's. One day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I'm drawing a line in the sand. F*** you VMA's," he tweeted at the time.
The band will join previously announced performers Usher, Ariana Grande and 5 Seconds of Summer.
The MTV Video Music Awards will air at 9 p.m. ET, on Sunday, August 24.
Maroon 5's forthcoming release, V, is due on September 2.
