'60s Psychedelic Rockers The Blues Magoos Line Up Spring US Tour Dates

Credit: Alan RandThis past October, The Blues Magoos released Psychedelic Resurrection, their first new studio album in more than 40 years, and now the band is lining up a U.S. tour to support the record.  The pioneering psychedelic rock act currently has five confirmed shows, running from an April 16 concert in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, through a May 23 performance in New York City.

The band also will play venues in New Jersey, Massachusetts and Connecticut, and are planning to schedule additional dates soon.  The group currently features three members from its classic 1960s lineup -- frontman/keyboardist Ralph Scala, singer/guitarist Peppy Castro and drummer Geoff Daking.

The Blues Magoos are best known for their 1967 hit "(We Ain't Got) Nothin' Yet," which peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967.  The song appeared on the band's debut album, Psychedelic Lollipop, which also included a memorable cover of the John D. Loudermilk tune "Tobacco Road" that later was featured on the famous 1972 garage-rock compilation Nuggets.

Psychedelic Resurrection includes a mix of new songs and updated renditions of some of The Blues Magoos early tunes.

Here are all of The Blues Magoos confirmed upcoming U.S. tour dates:

4/16 -- Sellersville, PA, Sellersville Theater
4/17 -- Long Branch, NJ, Brighton Bar
5/21 -- Somerville, MA, Johnny D's
5/22 -- New Haven, CT, Café Nine
5/23 -- New York, NY, Bowery Electric
