David Lee Roth Takes a Mic to the Nose, Plays Hurt During Van Halen's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Appearance

ABC/Randy HolmesVan Halen was the musical guest on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night, the night before the March 31 release of the group's new live album, Tokyo Dome: Live in Concert, which was recorded in the Japanese capital in June 2013.

David Lee Roth took to the stage set up on L.A.'s Hollywood Boulevard wearing a bloodied bandage across his nose, which wasn't mentioned on the air, but according to Diamond Dave himself during a profanity-laced YouTube video recorded by a fan in the crowd, Roth busted his nose with a microphone as the band was performing "Panama" the first time.

While Eddie, Alex and Wolfgang Van Halen stalled, Roth walked offstage and got his sniffer bandaged. He reemerged to cheers, explaining, "I f**ked my nose up with the microphone here...So we're gonna start the whole thing over...and give you a little extra for your patience."

The rock legends, who will kick off a North American tour on July 5 in Auburn, Washington, also performed "Runnin' with the Devil" and "Dance the Night Away."

Additional performances from the band's Hollywood Boulevard concert are scheduled to be broadcast on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight.
