Image Courtesy of Kim Bergeron for East St. Tammany Habitat for HumanityThe restored antique piano signed by the two surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, last fall to help raise money for a New Orleans-area chapter of Habitat for Humanity is now up for bid via a CharityBuzz auction.  The instrument, which is expected to fetch about $100,000, was autographed separately by Starr and McCartney, respectively, on October 17 in Biloxi, Mississippi, and October 28 in Louisville, Kentucky.

The piano has been decorated with a variety of Beatles-related images and phrases painted by Lori Gomez, an artist from the New Orleans suburb of Slidell, Louisiana.  Slidell also is the home of the East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity, which intends to use the money from the auction to support its Veterans Build initiative.  The program supplies housing to local veterans and their families.

Bids will be accepted through April 16 at 3 p.m. ET.  As of Sunday evening, only one bid had be submitted, for $15,000.
