Rob Thomas Postpones Tour Dates Due to Wife's Health Problems

Ben WattsRob Thomas has been battling a bronchial infection during his current tour in support of his upcoming album The Great Escape, but now it's his wife's health that has forced him to postpone a string of dates.

Rob will be rescheduling shows from July 13 in Tulsa through July 29 in Portsmouth, VA so he can care for his wife Marisol, who may need a lesion removed from the base of her brain.  His July 18 show in Highland Park will go on as planned.

If you can't attend the rescheduled dates, which will be announced soon, you can get a refund at the point of purchase.

Marisol also suffers from an auto-immune disease; her experiences battling that illness inspired Rob's hit, "Her Diamonds."

On Facebook, Rob explained what's happening.  "Last week, after an MRI for something unrelated, doctors saw what seems to be a lesion on the base of Mari’s brain," he writes. "We are being cautiously optimistic that this is something we caught early and can take care of in the near future but, as I’m sure you can all understand, we had to temporarily postpone some of the tour dates so that we can focus only on this for a while."

He adds, "We are so thankful for all of your well wishes and really believe in the good that positive energy can do.  While this is all we are focused on right now, we will get through it and be able to share many more moments together and with all of you in the future. Thanx for your love and understanding."
