Trace Adkins Says "Jesus and Jones" Is the Story of His Life

Wheelhouse Records“Redneck Crazy” hitmaker Tyler Farr is one of the tunesmiths behind Trace Adkins new single, “Jesus and Jones.” Even though Trace didn’t have a hand in writing his first release for Wheelhouse Records, he says it definitely borrows a page from his life.

“This is a song that’s autobiographical. The first thing I ever did behind a microphone was singing bass in a gospel quartet. At the same time, I was playing guitar and singing in honky tonks, so that’s when the struggle began -- the wrestling match between Jesus and Jones --  and I still struggle with that," he reveals.

You’ll be able to download the first single from Trace’s forthcoming album on Friday, with the full project due later this year. You can watch the new lyric video for “Jesus and Jones” on YouTube now.
