Why Kip Moore Likes to Feel Uncomfortable

MCA NashvilleWhile many of us are struggling with resolutions about fitness and self-improvement this week, Kip Moore has been busy shooting the music video for his new song "Running for You" in Nashville. If you wonder if the "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck" hitmaker has any personal goals himself for 2016 -- well, it sounds like he's probably already got most of those under control.

As for diet and exercise, the avid surfer admits he eats pretty clean most of the time, though he does let himself splurge during the holidays. But check out his pictures from his recent vacation in Costa Rica, and you can tell he doesn't let himself go much. Kip says fitness is actually just an essential part of his gig.

"You know I played 200 shows a year for the last three years in a row. If you don't take care of yourself -- I don't know if you've been to one of my live shows, but I mean I really get after it and I'm all over the place. Yeah, I mean I take care of myself and I like to work out. I like to stay in shape and it's something that makes me feel good," he says.

Even though Kip likes to catch some waves for both fun and fitness, he also likes to challenge himself when he picks the locales for his getaways.

"I just kinda search around to see what's what at certain times of year and try something new, try a new culture. I love being immersed in a new culture where -- you know it's just a fascinating thing to me. This is gonna sound really weird," he confesses. "I like putting myself in uncomfortable situations, which is a fear of a lot of people and it used to be a fear of mine, you know, you want to feel comfortable. But I feel like you grow more -- that's the way you grow and figure out who you are, so I like doing that to myself. I want to feel uncomfortable."

Kip kicks off the 2016 leg of his Wild Ones tour with Chase Bryant January 28 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You can check out the lyric video for "Running for You" on YouTube now, with the new music video on the way in the coming weeks.
