Taylor Swift Stalker Arrested After He Allegedly Followed Her to Austin Airport

ABC/Ida Mae AstuteA man accused of stalking Taylor Swift in Austin, Texas has been arrested.

According ABC-TV affiliate KVUE, police took 39-year-old Frank Hoover into custody Thursday after he allegedly followed Taylor to the airport following her October 22 concert at Circuit of the Americas.

Taylor had previously taken out a restraining order against Hoover, meaning he’s not allowed within 500 feet of her. The singer was boarding a private plane at Austin Bergstrom International Airport with her mother and father when Hoover allegedly arrived at the airport and told a security guard he intended to take a picture with Taylor.

Taylor’s security told police Hoover walked within 25 to 50 feet of the Swift family motorcade that night. By the time police arrived, Taylor’s plane had already left and Hoover was not arrested.

The arrest was made Thursday afternoon on a charge of repeated violation of a protective order, a third degree felony.

In addition to his appearance at the airport, police say Hoover also sent out about 30 “harassing emails” to Taylor’s father from August 28 to October 27.
