Billy Corgan Is Making a Documentary "About America"

Credit: Scarlet PageBefore Billy Corgan launches his In Plainsong tour with The Smashing Pumpkins, he'll be hitting the road on a different quest. In a note posted to his People and Their Cars photography blog, Corgan has announced that he will be traveling the U.S. in an effort to make a documentary "about America," and he's requesting your assistance.

"As we meet strangers and friends in living rooms and backyards and porches, and near campfires and rusting trolleys, we'll need your help of where to go and what we must see," writes Corgan. "If that intrigues you, and you or yours have family along our route, we'd like you to contact us with good heart." He adds that he'll "need to be invited into old-fashioned parlors and the like to retain some sense memory of what's come and gone."

Corgan will be bringing his guitar along with him on the trip, which will be a prelude of sorts to the In Plainsong tour.

The In Plainsong tour, which is billed as an "Acoustic-Electro Evening," begins March 22 in Portland, Oregon, and will wrap up April 20 in Houston. The shows will feature a "long and varied set," including a suite of Siamese Dream songs.
