System of a Down's Serj Tankian Shares Video for Track from "1915" Film Score

Tim Mosenfelder/Getty ImagesSerj Tankian has written his first film score -- for 1915, a psychological thriller that takes place on the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide. One of the cuts from the score, called "Ari Im Sokhag," has now been released as a music video. The song was orchestrated, produced, arranged and performed by Tankian, and also features vocals from the System of a Down frontman.

1915 is now available on Blu-ray and DVD. You can download the score via iTunes.

Last year, System of a Down staged their Wake Up the Souls tour in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide, the killing of Armenians by the Ottoman government in the region that's in present-day Turkey. The trek included the band's first ever show in Armenia.

The Turkish government has long maintained that no genocide took place, and Ottoman authorities did not systematically try to eliminate the Armenian people. All four System of a Down members are of Armenian descent.
