Train to Release "Led Zeppelin II" Album June 3; Sets Club Tour, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Appearance

Crush MusicA while back, Train announced they'd recorded one of their favorite albums -- the rock classic Led Zeppelin II -- in its entirety, and they'd be performing it in June at the Mountain Jam Festival in Hunter Mountain, NY.  Now a lot more people will be able to hear it, and see them play it live.

The band will release their recording of Led Zeppelin II June 3, with all of the proceeds going to their favorite charity, San Francisco's Family House.  You can pre-order it now on iTunes and Amazon and get a download of "What Is and What Should Never Be" instantly. Vinyl copies -- the first 100 of which will be signed -- will be available in the band's Web store. You can also stream the songs on a variety of platforms now, just in case you need convincing that Train can actually pull this off.

In addition, Train has announced a brief club tour during which they'll perform the album live, starting in New York City June 1.  They'll also perform in Los Angeles, Seattle and San Francisco.  Tickets go on sale May 13 at 10 a.m. local time.  On June 10, the band will play a Zeppelin tune on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live.

In a statement, frontman Pat Monahan said, "I’ve been singing Zeppelin songs in every band I’ve been in since I was a young kid, Train included. It only made sense to record a Zeppelin album for all of you...When we perform Zeppelin songs it brings people a different perspective of our band and brings us closer to people because their work is a common love for so many."

He adds, "We’re just fans of the greatest rock band ever. We work really hard to be the best band we can be and playing Zeppelin's music gives us a great feeling of accomplishment."

Here are the tour dates:

6/1 -- New York, NY, Irving Plaza
6/2 -- Hunter Mountain, NY, Mountain Jam Festival (tickets already on sale)
6/6 -- Los Angeles, CA, Troubadour
6/8 -- Seattle, WA, Neumos
6/14 -- San Francisco, CA, Great American
