Diana Ross' Self-Titled 1976 Album Being Reissued on Vinyl Next Week

PRNewsFoto/UMeThis year marks the 40th anniversary of Diana Ross' second self-titled solo album, and in commemoration of the milestone the record will be issued on vinyl this month for the first time since its original release. The Diana Ross album was the founding Supremes singer's sixth solo studio effort overall, and yielded two #1 hits -- the disco classic "Love Hangover" and the memorable ballad "Theme from Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To)."

The album, which peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200, also featured one other top 40 hit, "One Love in My Lifetime." Closing out the record is a rendition of the Charlie Chaplin-penned standard "Smile."

"Love Hangover" spent two weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to be nominated for a Grammy in the Best R&B Female Vocal Performance category. The tune had a second life on the chart when it was sampled for Monica's 1998 #1 single "The First Night." "Theme from Mahogany" was first heard on the soundtrack of the 1975 romantic drama Mahogany, which starred Ross and was directed by Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr.

The vinyl reissue of Diana Ross will be released on July 15. Here is the track list of the album:

Side One
"Theme from Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To)"
"I Thought It Took a Little Time (but Today I Fell in Love)"
"Love Hangover"
"Kiss Me Now"

Side Two
"You're Good My Child"
"One Love in My Lifetime"
"Ain't Nothin' but a Maybe"
