Credit: Danny ClinchBruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are two shows through a three-concert engagement at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and so far, the run of dates has been one for the record books.

According to the respected Springsteen fan site, the Boss' gig on Thursday night clocked in at just under four hours, making it the longest one he's ever played in the U.S.

The previous longest? That took place on Tuesday, at the first of Bruce's scheduled MetLife Stadium concerts, which ran three hours and 52 minutes. Thursday, Springsteen and the E Street Band played a career-spanning 33-song set that included a guest appearance by Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello on three tunes. During the show, Bruce dedicated "My City of Ruins" to the earthquake victims in Italy.

In addition, reports Bruce acknowledged that the Thursday was "Born to Run birthday day" -- that is, the 41st anniversary of the classic album's release. During the concert's finale, "Jersey Girl," Springsteen brought a couple who just got engaged at the show onto the stage.

Speaking of birthdays, Bruce's marathon feat is even more impressive when you consider he turns 67 September 23.

Springsteen and the E Street Band's third MetLife Stadium concert is scheduled for this Tuesday, August 30, although they'll perform first at Chicago's United Center on Sunday. Bruce's The River Tour 2016 is scheduled wind down on September 14 in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Incidentally, Springsteen longest concert of all time, according to, happened on July 31, 2012, in Helsinki, Finland.  That one  ran four hours and five minutes.
