OneRepublic Unveil Peter Gabriel Collaboration "A.I."

Mosley Music/Interscope RecordsOh My My, OneRepublic's new album, is the band's first to feature collaborations with other artists.  One of them, "A.I.," features a collaboration with frontman Ryan Tedder's idol, Peter Gabriel, and it's now available as an instant download when you pre-order the album.

The band tweeted that they're "incredibly excited" to share the song thanks to the participation of "legend" Gabriel, to whom Ryan offers "massive thanks."  As previously reported, due to a miscommunication, Ryan accidentally stood Gabriel up twice for songwriting sessions.

As Ryan told Fault magazine, "He was less than happy with me..I continuously sent him emails and phone calls 'cause I was horrified that he was going to hate me, and, well, it took two months to make up, but he eventually agreed to work together."

The video for the song will evidently star actor Matthew Modine, most recently seen in Stranger Things.  Seems random, but there is a connection: Modine also starred in the 1984 movie Birdy, for which Gabriel composed the soundtrack.

Oh My My is out October 7.
