Iron Maiden releasing new live album next week; streaming concert film for free online Saturday

Sanctuary RecordsIron Maiden will release a new concert album called The Book of Souls: Live Chapter next Friday, November 17.  It features a selection of performances from various stops on the band's lengthy world tour in support of its 2015 album The Book of Souls. The 15-track collection will be available as deluxe and standard two-CD sets and a triple-vinyl LP.

The album, recorded at 14 different shows, recreates the set Iron Maiden played at its concerts this year: six songs from The Book of Souls, as well as a variety of classic tunes and fan favorites. The project was co-produced by founding Iron Maiden bassist Steve Murray and producer Tony Newton.

"We spent a huge amount of time working on this, as I wanted to get it as close to the Maiden live experience as I possibly could and to represent our fans from different parts of the world," says Harris. "This meant listening to literally hours upon hours of tapes from every show, to select material and construct a sound that would run consistently across the whole album."

Meanwhile, as a special treat for the British metal greats' fans, a companion concert film will be streamed live this Saturday, November 11, for free on Iron Maiden's YouTube channel starting at 2 p.m. ET.

"We hope that the global Maiden community will all enjoy coming together to watch this special event online," says the band's manager, Rod Smallwood. "Many of you will be in it, as there is footage from a whole host of the places we played on this momentous tour."
