Taylor Swift's "Reputation" is doubling as birthday gift for her favorite TV star

Ethan Miller/Getty ImagesTaylor Swift has already paid tribute to actress Ellen Pompeo by naming one of her cats Meredith, after Ellen’s character on Grey’s Anatomy. She even featured Ellen in her “Bad Blood” video, solidifying the actress' status as honorary squad member.  Now, Taylor's giving Ellen a special birthday gift: her new album, Reputation.

Reputation comes out today, which just happens to be Ellen's birthday. “I love that she's releasing her album on my birthday,” Ellen tells ABC Radio. “That's kinda cool. I love Taylor, she's such a good girl.”

Grey’s Anatomy and Taylor go way back. Her song “White Horse” was featured on the show’s season five premiere in 2008. Her latest #1 hit, “Look What You Made Me Do” was featured in a recent ABC promo touting the show, as well as Shonda Rhimes’ other shows Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder.

“There's always like a thing with Taylor and our show and, you know, her fans are so loyal and our fans are so loyal,” Ellen says.

Grey’s Anatomy aired its milestone 300th episode last night, and after that, Taylor debuted a new song, "New Year's Eve," during Scandal.
