Doing it for the people: Common to star in new digital comic book series, "Caster"

ABC/Fred WatkinsGrammy- and Emmy-winner Common is now ready to take the comic book world by storm.

The "Glory" artist will both star in and score a new digital comic book series called Caster, reports Deadline

He's teamed up with digital comics service platform LINE Webtoon and comic book company Noble Transmission to bring the story to life.

Coming out next year, Caster will focus on a "globe-trotting antiquities dealer whose search for his next payday leads him into a world of international espionage."

Common tells Deadline that Caster is, "different than Indiana Jones. ...What drew to him -- it's something about his taste and (his knowledge of) antiquities. It's very unique," he adds.

In other news, Common and Andra Day are both confirmed to appear on the Girl Scouts of the USA's "Building a Better World" float during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this year.

Both stars will perform their hit track "Stand Up for Something," which is featured on the Marshall soundtrack.

The 91st Macy's Thanksgiving Parade airs live November 23 at 9 a.m. ET on NBC.
