Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead not among Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees

Courtesy Rock & Roll Hall of FameNeither Rage Against the Machine nor Radiohead will enter the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next year.  Despite appearing on the ballot as nominees, both bands were left off the final list of 2018 inductees, which were announced Wednesday morning.

As for who did make the cut, the inductees include Bon Jovi, The Cars, Dire Straits, The Moody Blues, Nina Simone and, as an "Early Influence," Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

Both Rage and Radiohead were nominated for induction in their first year of eligibility, so they'll likely pop up again in future years. Besides, Radiohead probably isn't too upset about not getting in -- the band has previously expressed ambivalence about the Rock Hall, and they even scheduled a show in Argentina the same day the induction ceremony takes place in Cleveland.

As for Rage, at least they don't have to worry about being bombarded with reunion questions over the next few months.  The 2018 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place April 14, and will air on HBO at a later date.
