Nickelback drummer Daniel Adair victim of alleged identity theft

ABC/Tim OgierA man in Florida allegedly impersonated Nickelback drummer Daniel Adair to purchase $25,000 of drum microphones. According to an affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, the man was arrested this week by Port St. Lucie police on two felony fraud-related charges.

Adair became aware of the possible identity theft when he was contacted by Nickelback's business representative, who wanted to confirm that he made a large purchase of tens of thousands of dollars. A security specialist then reported to the police that Adair "had his identity used to fraudulently order drum parts from a company in Vienna, Austria."

According to PEOPLE, the alleged perpetrator was released from St. Lucie County Jail on bail.

In happier Nickelback happenings, the band will release their new album Feed the Machine on June 9.
