Machine Gun Kelly wants "one more last little sparkle" for "Bad Things": A BBMA win this weekend

Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic"Bad Things," the hit duet by Machine Gun Kelly and Camila Cabello, is nominated for Top Rap Collaboration at this Sunday's Billboard Music Awards.  While Kelly says he'd be OK if he and Camila didn't win, taking home the trophy would be "one more last little sparkle" for the duo.

"I mean, we weren't expecting it, it was like lightning in a bottle," the rapper, born Colson Baker Kelly, tells ABC Radio of the song's success. "So while it was happening, we were like, 'OK, let's just fully live in the moment'...when [it] was number one, I'll never forget: I lived that week like it was the last week on earth."

At this point, he and Camila have performed "Bad Things" for tens of thousands of fans everywhere.  But now that Camila's moving on to her own solo career, Kelly says the award would be "just...a really beautiful way to close the chapter out."

He says, "One more last little sparkle would make this a truly legendary run."

Though he's well-known in the hip-hop world, "Bad Things," which is on his new album Bloom, has brought Machine Gun Kelly a whole new audience.  So what does the rapper want them to know about the album?

"It's a confidence record, it's a growth record," he tells ABC Radio. "...It's so full of youth and so full of energy and so full of angst. Hands's my best body of work."

He adds, "Whether it's the lyrics you love, or if it's the instrumentation, there's something for everybody to appreciate in every song."

In addition to "Bad Things," Bloom includes Machine Gun Kelly's latest hit, "At My Best," with Hailee SteinfeldJames Arthur, Quavo and Ty Dolla $ign also are featured on the disc.
