Green Day to open "Good Morning America's" 2017 Summer Concert Series

Image Group LA/ABCGreen Day will kick off ABC's Good Morning America Summer Concert Series in New York City's Central Park.

The band's name was frozen inside a giant popsicle, which was then chipped away at during a Facebook live stream. Billie Joe Armstrong and company will take the stage May 19 for the first show of the series.  The rest of the lineup will be revealed soon.

Green Day is supporting their current album Revolution Radio.  Currently, they're Down Under, and will wrap up their Australia/New Zealand tour this Sunday.
