Third Man Records On July 14, 1997, The White Stripes played their first-ever show. The three-song performance took place during an open-mic night at The Gold Dollar in Detroit. Now, 20 years later to the day, you can experience the show for yourself.

The First Show: Live on Bastille Day is available now on digital platforms. The recording includes performances of the songs "Jimmy the Exploder," "St. James Infirmary" and "Love Potion #9."

Two years after their first show, The White Stripes released their self-titled debut album. Jack and Meg White recorded five more albums together -- the last of which was 2007's Icky Thump -- before the band broke up in 2011.
