Snoop Dogg and Method Man both discuss game show hosting duties at Television Critics press tour

Snoop Dogg; ABC/Randy HolmesThis year's Television Critics press tour introduced a variety of stars promoting forthcoming TV shows, and rappers Snoop Dogg and Method Man were on deck to talk about their respective game show hosting duties.

Snoop surprised attendees at the TNT and TBS executive session, stating that he "grew up loving TV."

"I watched What's HappeningGood TimesDiff'rent Strokes," he said. "And then I watched a lot of game shows, because game shows was very popular when I was a kid. Price is RightJoker's WildFamily FeudLove Connection, et cetera, et cetera."

Snoop will host a reboot version of The Joker's Wild, which airs later this year. The gig appears to be a good fit for the rapper, who also claimed during the TBS/TNT event that he used to watch the show with his grandmother.

"I just loved the way that the show used to flow," he said. "I loved that you could win money."

Snoop continued, "They would count the money out and there was a chance that you could get to a high level and get as much money as you could. I love making money and I love trying to get money, so it was one of those shows I was enticing to."

As for Method Man, he's co-hosting the upcoming Drop the Mic rap battle show with model Hailey Baldwin. The performer talked about the artistic differences of being a battle rapper versus a mainstream hip hop or rap artist.

"We tend to think 'song first, hook first,' before we think of 'We're gonna tear this dude's head off,' even though there's rhymes in there that can lyrically tear somebody's head off, for sure," he explained.

Drop the Mic is scheduled to air on TBS later this year.
