Arcade Fire's Win Butler "taking an extended break" from Twitter

Credit: Guy Aroch Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler is taking a page out of Ed Sheeran's book and hopping off Twitter for a bit. Butler says that he's "taking an extended break" from the land of 140 characters.

"[I] will miss the opinions and the 1 liners," he writes. "Talk later when I got something to say."

Leading up to the release of their new album Everything Now, Arcade Fire had been very active on Twitter, adopting a satirical voice to parody the idea of corporate marketing and "infinite content." Perhaps that helped Everything Now debut at number one on the Billboard 200.

Arcade Fire will kick off a North American tour in support of Everything Now in September.
