John Mayer refutes report that he slept with 500 women: "My number is six"

ABC/Randy HolmesJohn Mayer has a bone to pick with the online gossip site Page Six.  Specifically, he's not happy that it reported that he slept with 500 women, since he claims his number is way, way, way lower than that.

It all started a week ago on Current Mood, an episode of John's Instagram Live story. His guest, Cazzie David, asked him to "blink twice if you've slept with over 800 women." He didn't blink, so she asked him to "blink twice if you've slept with over 500 women." Again, he didn't blink...but Page Six took it as if he did.

In the latest episode of Current Mood, John directly addresses Page Six, saying, "I made reference to being a sub-500 guy....[but] the headline said that I slept with 500 bring back all this stuff that just makes me feel bad! It's made me feel bad for years."

John continued, "I actually went back over my entire dating history and my number is six. So I just wanted you to know that. That my number is six. And I'm proud of that."

He concluded by saying, "I don't usually go into this 'cause it's not a big deal... I went out with five you knew!  I went out with five you knew!" He then groused about "ten years of 'womanizer' labels," and finally laughed, "All right, let's move on."

Page Six has actually changed its story to reflect the sub-500 number.

John has gotten in trouble in the past about blabbing about his sex life, which he says is probably the reason why he's single at age 41.

Oh, and those five? Let's see...Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Katy Perry and Jennifer Love Hewitt definitely, and Taylor Swift, probably.
